Review iphone 8

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE IPHONE 8 The iPhone 8 is just over the horizon, so it's no surprise that there's no shortage of leaks, rumours, and news. Here's what we know about the iPhone 8 release date, specs, features, and price. (Update: 22 February 2017): Prominent analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reckons Apple is planning to introduce 3D depth-sensing to the front-facing camera on the iPhone 8, making the prospect of 3D selfies a possibility. Read on to find out more. The iPhone 8 may be a long way off, but the rumour mill waits for no man. In fact, it's already been mooted that the iPhone's components – like the A11 chip and OLED display – have already been finalised. So it already seems clear that 2017's iPhone 8 is going to bring in some significant changes. Ming-Chi Kuo, a reputable industry analyst at KGI Securities, has already given us some clues about the new phone. Probably the most interesting titbit is that the phone may feature a new 'all-glass design'. Meanwhile, a Barclays analyst recently speculated that the iPhone 8 will finally add wireless charging – that would be a first for Apple phones. Fortunately, we don't need analysts to get a rough idea of what the iPhone 8 will look like. The smartphone industry is cyclical (and thus predictable) so we're already fairly confident about what's in store for Apple fans this year. And Apple is expectedly optimistic the handset too, as outlined by CEO Tim Cook: “iPhone is an essential part of our customers’ lives, and today more than ever it is redefining the way we communicate, entertain, work and live. iPhone set the standard for mobile computing in its first decade and we are just getting started. The best is yet to come." Buy Now: iPhone 7 at Amazon.com from $780 Here’s what to expect: LATEST IPHONE 8 NEWS: When does the iPhone 8 come out? Approx. September 2017 What’s new about the iPhone 8? While we can’t pin down an exact iPhone 8 release date just yet, it doesn’t take a crystal ball to predict a launch window with reasonable accuracy. Apple tends to launch flagship phones in September, usually leaving about a week-and-a-half gap between the announcement and release. Apple generally announces its launch event a couple of weeks prior to the big day, so keep an eye out in late August or early September. Interestingly, an Apple staffer recently revealed to Business Insider that Apple is developing hardware for the iPhone 8 in Herzliya, Israel. Apple has always adopted a tick-tock approach to iPhone launches. One year we get a major overhaul, and the next year we get a slightly tweaked ‘-S’ variant. In 2015, we had the iPhone 6S. Last year, we had the iPhone 7. And this year, as tradition dictates, we’ll see the iPhone 7S, right? Maybe not. According to a MacRumors report, Barclays analyst Mark Moskowitz speculated the following in 2016: “There might be no 'S' cycle in C2017. Our conversations with industry participants suggest Apple could skip the “S” cycle next year and instead jump to IP8.” Moskowitz says that the high number of significant improvements that have been rumoured – like an OLED display and wireless charging – could “drive a mega cycle”. In a similar vein, Japanese news agency Nikkei reported that Apple had moved to a three-year cycle for major iPhone upgrades back in May. According to the publication's source, the decision was made due to slowing growth in the smartphone market, making it much more difficult to create a buzz around upgrades. If Apple did decide to move straight from the iPhone 7 to the iPhone 8, it would be a serious break of habit. However, it’s been speculated for a while that Apple could eventually drop the numbers in the iPhone branding entirely, instead just calling 2017’s handset: iPhone. It’s not without precedent; Apple’s third-generation iPad – the iPad 3 – was marketed as ‘The new iPad’, to help simplify Apple’s tablet branding. However, not all rumours are in agreeance. Throwing a spanner in the works is Japan's specialist Apple blog Mac Otakara, which claims that Apple will release an iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus this year. The information is sourced to an anonymous tipster in the Taiwanese part of Apple's supply chain, and says the new handsets will feature the "same basic design" as the iPhone 7, with the only major update being the introduction of a new A11 chip. But given Mac Otakara's mixed track record for leaks, and the consistency of rumours to the contrary, we're inclined to doubt this report. A separate leak suggested we'd also see three different versions of the iPhone 8 this year – check it out. Do you think Apple should finally get rid of the numbers in the iPhone branding? Let us know in the comments. IPHONE 8 FEATURES – WHAT’S NEW ABOUT THE IPHONE 8? Despite the iPhone 8 being months away, we’ve already seen a significant volume of rumours about the handset. Enough to warrant this article, anyway. So what’s expected to change? Here are a few of the rumoured features: All-glass design Wireless charging OLED/AMOLED display 5.8-inch screen A11 chip Intel 7360 LTE modem iOS 11 software No home button Unfortunately, analysts at KGI Securities believe some of these new features – like the OLED display – could be reserved for a select variant of the iPhone 8 Plus. We’ll update this article with newly rumoured components as and when the leaks arrive, and you can read on below for more information about exactly what the iPhone 8 will look like. A new report claims that Hon Hai Precision Industry – better known as Foxconn in the west – is working on a “glass casing” for Apple, in a bid to replace the standard metal chassis. Taiwan’s Foxconn is a key supplier of metal chassis for Apple already, and aims to develop the new glass body to “boost weakening demand and to see off stiff competition from rivals”, according to a new report by Japan’s Nikkei news agency. As soon as it had been leaked that HMD – the owner of the Nokia name and brand – was planning to revive the iconic slab of unbreakable plastic, it’s been everywhere. So it's with great pleasure that I can say that the rumours were true – the Nokia 3310 is well and truly back. The original 3310 was my first phone at the age of eight, and picking up the new model for the first time gave me a feeling of nostalgia that’s hard to replicate. The new 3310 is such an odd device in today’s market of quad-HD displays, Snapdragon 835 CPUs and 6GB of RAM; but it’s refreshing. This is a simple phone; one that isn’t going to replace your iPhone 7 or Samsung Galaxy S7, but that might be kept for an emergency. Or a festival, or maybe even given to a child. This handset isn't a high-end device, tacking on the 3310 moniker for prosperity; this isn't even a smartphone. It’s just a feature phone – when was the last time you read about one of those on TrustedReviews? There’s no Wi-Fi, no 4G, no app store, no Android, and certainly no Facebook. Instead, it has text messaging and a phonebook in which you can store all your mates’ numbers. The 2.4-inch display isn’t monochrome like the original 3310, but its 240 x 320 resolution is about as far away from 1080p as you can get. Like most Nokia feature phones, the OS of choice is Series 30+ and it’s nothing more than a homescreen with a basic menu attached. There’s a messaging "app", dialler, contacts book, picture gallery and...wait for it... Snake. The most iconic of all the mobile games is back, although it has seen a fresh coat of paint since the last time I played it. Instead of being confined to right-angle movements, your "snake" can move freely in all directions. I probably should have been working, but within the space of five minutes I was addicted again. It seems to be a big hit at MWC, too, with the Nokia booth packed with folk sitting cross-legged playing Snake. I never thought I'd have been saying that a few weeks ago. In the transition to colour it has lost some of the magic. Maybe I'm being picky, but I think it would have been great for Nokia to include a completely retro version of the game. There’s a rudimentary browser, too, although since the phone only works on a 2.5G network and there’s no Wi-Fi, you’d only be likely to use it in an emergency. It's the Opera browser, and Nokia told me that the reason for its inclusion is to give people in developing countries the chance to access services such as Facebook. Rivew samsung galaxy s7

The design is similar to 2015's Galaxy S6 - meaning some have said the Galaxy S7 should be called the Galaxy S6S - but this in-depth review shows there's a lot more going on under the hood to supplement the improved design. If you're looking for the curved phone variant of this design, the Galaxy S7 isn't competing as closely with the Galaxy S7 Edge as the S6 did with the S6 Edge, with the curved display variant getting a bump in screen size this time round, taking it more into phablet territory. The 5.1-inch Galaxy S7 commands a price tag which places it at the top of the mobile tree. Yet, unlike its predecessor it only comes in one variant (32GB of storage), making pricing more straightforward. Samsung Galaxy S7 price and release date Released in March 2016 Launch price £569 (around $750 / AU$900) Contracts start at £28 per month for free phone In the UK you're looking at a hugely impressive £450 SIM-free, while those in the US will have to part with $199 upfront as part of a two-year contract, or fork over $669 for the new unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 price. In Australia the SIM-free price is set at AU$1149. Those prices pretty much match up with the 32GB Galaxy S6, when both were a few months old, so at least Samsung isn't trying to short-change us - and it's now a fair amount cheaper than similarly-specified flagship phones from rivals.
